Credibility?

Does everyone see this administration as a bunch of yokels ham-handedly trying to pull the wool over their countrymen's eyes?
I can only speak for myself when I say "yes" to this. It was obvious as soon as they started drafting the Patriot Act. At that point, many happily accepted the wool only to turn around later and say, "we didn't know, how could we have known?". And by "many" I mean congress. Idiots.

If I move closer to my new job I'll also be 55 miles closer to Canada. I keep telling Mr. Val that's where we'll eventually end up. I think, though, that my biggest problem with Canada is that I wish it was in Mexico. Damn winter.
If you're interested in moderate weather up here go live in the Okanagan Valley in B.C. Summer temperatures are very warm and the winters are shorter and quite bearable, I'd venture a guess that the weather patterns are considerably more temperate than say New York or Wisconsin.

It's interesting that Clinton was slowly trying to pass bills like the Patriot act during his presidency that Congress wouldn't pass. All it took was one horrible event to get it through. I read a report that such methods are called "shock treatment". If you cause a great upheaval that shocks a populace there is a grace period where the body of the populace is still reeling that you can introduce new and exiting things that the people wouldn't have accepted before, but since they're stunned and frightened they'll allow it. Then comes the slow task of making the people accept the fact that the freedoms they lost are never ever coming back...
