McCain the Independent?

BIDEN IS JUST THE VICE PRESIDENT!

Here's the thing- as a VP Biden will have to be loyal to the President- he's not going to be able to do much independently. Obama chose him so that the rhetoric about Obama being "the most liberal Senator EVAR" would be silenced. And, also, Biden works as a great kind of junkyard dog to throw at McCain.

McCain can't be trusted. He has changed his mind on a million things. He practically sold his soul to the Devil to become President (well, if you consider Rove to be the Devil, that would be "literally", not "practically"). In any case- always remember that the VP is an extension of the President, and acts on the President's behest. They aren't co-presidenting.

Biden sort of balances the scales for a lot of Democrats. Now, that being said, Obama nearly picked my senator (Evan Bayh) and I'm pissed that he passed him over. Had he done that, he'd have had Indiana in his hands. Too late now.
Lieberman as secretary of state makes me wet myself a little too. No matter what I think the citizens of the US are gonna be in for four more years of fighting to defend it's constitution, and keeping their liberties. I think I may just have to look to 2012 and start supporting a real libertarian party.
Biden's job will be to rule over the Senate. Period. A lot of them have blood on thier hands at this point, the fact that he was involved with the patriot act means nothing.

I can't help but feel like McCain doesn't have the strength and integrity to enact needed reforms to his party

Of course not. He doesn't WANT to.

How anyone could even stop and look at McCain as an option at this point blows my mind. It's this wavering indecisiveness (well...he's not ALL bad) that got us into this fucking mess in the first place. It's GOT to be the Democrats - all or nothing.

Sorry to be so adamant so early in the day but its my country we're talking about here. ;)

*smooch*
Awww shucks.

Well it's good to know you still have faith. Thanks for the smack, though I too am teh eternal pragmatist, I gotta be prepared to take either candidate as prez and then focus on what they could do well and then drive against what I think they'll do badly. I'm not really a fan of the Democratic or GOP parties, and while I do lean more to the left on some things it's mostly in the interests of dialing back corporate control and intervention.

Not really considering voting for anyone kuz I don't have to. Ma blog is ma voice and that's what I use to try and point things out.

Oh... and interesting tidbit. Our government may call an election soon, if that happens we may go to the polls before you guys. How's that for scary?
It's this wavering indecisiveness (well...he's not ALL bad)

No kidding. Sure, McCain's not ALL that bad, there is some frosting on that turd... but do you really wanna go there?

Biden is a throwback to the days when they called the VP the "President's Bulldog". I'm cool with that. See, McCain doesn't need to GET a bulldog because he IS a bulldog. Me? I'm not cool with THAT.
[this is good]
I'm sure God would agree and wouldn't WANT to be used as a reason to start World War III. It's a pretty scary state of affairs that we're in now.
